The first Australian Veterinarian licensed to submit German Shepherd x-rays for hip

Announcement

The Dysplasia Zentrum Gißen (DZG) grants the first license to an Australian Veterinarian to submit x-ray images of Australian residing German Shepherds for assessment of hip and elbow dysplasia.

The accredited Australian Foreign Veterinary Radiologist is located in Deloraine, Tasmania.

Please contact Working German Shepherd & Dogsport Clubs of Australasian Inc. (“WGSDCA”) for further information if you wish to use this Veterinarian for submission of x-rays to DZG (info@wgsdca.org.au)

WGSDCA is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of German Shepherds as stipulated by the Country of Origin, Germany. In 2020, WGSDCA established a collaboration with the DZG HD-ED Expert Panel led by Dr. Bernd Tellhelm (more here and here). The service of the DZG HD-ED Expert Panel is also commissioned by organisations such as Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH), Verein für Deutxche Schäferhunde e.V (SV) and the Weltunion der Vereine für Deutsche Schäferhunde (WUSV).

It is the objective to get accredited Veterinarians in each of the Australian States and Territories. To do that, Australian German Shepherd owners need to contact their veterinarians of choice and present the WGSDCA-DZG initiative.

You can download the cordial invitation from Dr. Tellhelm to the Australian veterinarians here.

The WGSDCA fraternity supports the initiative by covering the full accreditation cost for the first accredited veterinarian in each of the Australian States and Territories.

The role of WGSDCA is as a Record Keeper and DZG contact only. The fees associated with using the DZG Portal Scheme are those of the DZG + VAT + a small WGSDCA administration fee.
