Quincy works as a Therapy Dog at a local Dementia Care Facility, where she interacts with the residents who pats her, feed her treats for tricks. The visits are a much anticipated event and Quincy is the happy receiver of much love.
Quincy and Mel are also active participants in the IPO Dogsport. They most recently competed at our 2017 WGSDCA IPO National Championship where they participated at the IPO1 level.
The IPO Dogsport is a 3-phase training scheme that aims to develop the natural instinct of a dog and to demonstrate trainability. The internationally recognised IPO Scheme is a scheme that meets the modern working dog's need for physical and mental stimulation while providing opportunities and encouragement for owners to socialise and train their dogs. The Sport provides a venue for proper socialisation of working dog breeds into the wider community. The Sport identifies and promotes trainable dogs that are obedient, goodnatured towards humans, self confident and stable. For more information: click here
